This was a great introduction to globalizing your assets. I learned a few things so I consider it worth it.

But what I needed was a boots on the ground kind of approach. Your report does not even touch on this.

Did not need the why and the information about gold. Need how to..

When I arrive in a city who are the people who would know the attorneys that specialize in Business structures?

I need to know who the people are who can help me set up an IBC. You have already said it is usually not people you would find on google.

But to find the attorneys I need to know who might refer me to a qualified one. Who are these people I can ask?

Do I even need an attorney? Is there some sort of online legalzoom type of service?

Also for letter of introductions to banks...what are the best businesses to get referrals to banks?

That's like comparing apples to oranges. Lifeboat Strategy is 300+ pages and talks about privacy issues as well as offshore strategies. Going Global is a 69-page crash course on the essentials for getting started offshore.

I read Going Global, and I would recommend it as a primer for anyone new to the offshore and expat scene. Readers may also find Mark Nestmann's Lifeboat Strategy very informative as well as JJ Luna's “How To Be Invisible” and Erika Nolan's “Offshore Investments that Safeguard Your Cash.”

There are definitely a wide range of options out there for you, and maybe Simon can offer some good specific destinations, but remember that life abroad in a majority of places is significantly cheaper than back home in the States, so while your income may come down a little bit, your cost-of-living will shrink immensely too, meaning you have much more *relative* income to spend.

As a young, blue collar worker (automated welder) my choices of leaving the country and obtaining the same decent paying job as in the States are not too high. Until I have accumulated enough experience to start up on my own, it seems I am stuck here.

Are there any countries you know of that have the same high-paying blue collar jobs as the states? With the average age of a welder in the states at 54, it doesn't make sense for me to leave the country and look for work.

Just finished reading the book. As an overall guide for a multiple flags approach, it was quite good. Your influence was definitely present throughout many sections of the book. I have not read Nestmann's "Lifeboat Strategy", so I'm not sure how it compares to that. But for consolidated information, the book was solid.

The best sections were the second passport, banking, and foreign LLC sections. I would have liked a more exhaustive and detailed Resources section, and while I realize this might not be possible, more personal anecdotes from individuals who have successfully planted multiple flags would be inspiring.

We come from very similar backgrounds I believe. WP grad fulfilling my obligation, MI officer in FS/HAAF area preparing myself for when I transition out. I know you've addressed it somewhat before, but how much of the flag approach would you recommend taking while you're still in?

Highly disappointed with the introduction/advertisement that link directs us to. The first pair of charts is a clear example of misrepresentation (different scales for both graphs), and the figures just don't add up… Of course, as a devout reader of Simon's articles, I agree that the USA is going to hell in a handbasket, and I love Simon's writing, but his coauthors paint themselves as sensationalists.

I'd pay the 100$ price for Simon's work a la carte, but I wouldn't patron the other pseudo experts.

As a Canadian with no disposable income, who is taxed to the teeth and has lost half of their retirement investments due to the downturn in the economy, I find that $99.00 is well beyond my reach. I guess I am among what you refer to as the “unworthy”. How unfortunate.
