I forwarded this to a friend with large holdings in the region and this was the response I got:

yea, get me on his list. he is reasonably tuned, though his concern about ignelina (the nuclear plant which supplies 70% of Lithuania’s power will be closing for good) is way overblown. country had a communist era plant which is being deep-sixed and getting billions from the European union for a new plant which will take time… but also plenty of arrangements re alternative energy. it will mean that Lithuania will have a big increased dependence on Russian natural gas… a risk issue that Russia has used with the Ukraine.. but i don’t view it as a major concern.

Great stuff – love reading your commentary.

I was at the Casey Conf in Las Vegas in March, and met the Panama attorney that was there. I have inquired about having him incorporate my business there. Do you know this guy and do you still recommend him?

Also, I came across information on Panama Investment Foundations (PIF). Are you familiar with this entity and if so, can you comment about it in general and perhaps detail the best strategy in creating a PIF and then perhaps having the PIF create the new corp.?

Hi Simon,

vR from KSA here. I have been to the Baltics. Could not agree more. Wouldn’t Iceland make more sense now? Iceland has cheap currency that just collapsed, self-sufficiency in Energy (almost), educated population. Any comments? No, I have never been to Iceland.
