One simple question you need to ask yourself

December 20, 2012
Sovereign Valley Farm, Chile

Everyone has a catalyst. A breaking point where we finally say, “enough is enough” and finally begin to take action.

Maybe it’s watching your beautiful daughter be sexually assaulted by government agents for having committed the crime of flying to Disney World. Or having some government agency tell you what you can/cannot put in your body. Or having your son’s lemonade stand shut down. Or being sentenced to jail for collecting rainwater.

Many of us, though, are indoctrinated from birth to believe that our country is the best, highest pinnacle of civilization. So we’re programmed to hang on to the bitter end. Instead of taking action at the first sign of danger, we’ll wait… and wait… and wait… until we finally reach our breaking points.

This is unusual for a living species. Animals in the wild have a honed sense of danger. They survive because they listen to their instincts and take immediate action.

We humans, on the other hand, have decades of propaganda clouding our judgment. It’s been this way for most of history, in fact. In the past, we allowed ourselves to be enslaved to single individuals– kings, emperors. Now we’re enslaved by an idea.

This idea suggests that, simply because we happened to be born on a specific piece of dirt, that we can be saddled with obligations we never signed up for… to pay taxes, serve in the military, spend our entire working lives paying down the debts of previous generations, use a corrupt money system controlled by a tiny elite, etc.

The propaganda is so effective that people truly believe these are all the ‘costs of living in a free society…’ As if the society is actually free.

Yes, the West is replete with superficial conveniences– Starbucks-a-plenty, big box retail shops, TGI Fridays, sit-coms, and cookie-cutter subdivisions. But this all seems a pithy yardstick to measure freedom or quality of life.

In addition, the propanda is so effective that people even ask for their freedoms to be taken away, all so that the ruling elite has more control.

“Please bathe us in radiation to protect us from men in caves…”

“Please conjure infinite money out of thin air to protect us from bank failure…”

And now it seems to be “Please disarm the population to protect us from crazed killers…”

Each time this happens, national dialogue comes to a screeching halt. There is no debate over policy, and any dissent is branded as unpatriotic and disloyal.

History is full of examples of this, starting as far back as the death sentence of Socrates for rejecting the state religion, criticizing Athenian political leaders, and questioning the validity of Democracy.

When a society loses its capacity for intelligent discourse focused on facts and minority-held views… when a people loses the will to question authority… it signals a hastened decline into tyranny.

This is prevalent everywhere in the west today. Topics such as climate change, September 11th, ‘taxing the rich’, gun control, etc. are so sacrosanct that the mere mention of a dissenting opinion is ridiculed.

I understand that a man went on television recently, for example, to argue for freedom and the right to bear arms. He was lambasted on live TV as an ‘unbelievably stupid man’ who doesn’t ‘give a damn about the murder rate’.

It seems quite obvious now. There can be no discussion. And at some point, a reasonable human being has to reflect on the society that has developed around him and wonder, “Do I have anything in common with these people anymore…? Do we share any core values? Or do we simply share the same passport cover?”

It’s certainly a question worth asking… ideally before you reach your breaking point.

Our goal is simple: To help you achieve personal liberty and financial prosperity no matter what happens.

Just think about this for a couple of minutes. What if the U.S. Dollar wasn’t the world’s reserve currency? Ponder that… what if…

Empires Rise, they peak, they decline, they collapse, this is the cycle of history.

This historical pattern has formed and is already underway in many parts of the world, including the United States.

I knew you were going to bring up gun control. I agree with everything you said but you have lost credit in my book by suggesting people need guns to protect themselves from government. Fail

    • http://twitter.com/brianmcmichael Brian McMichael

It’s easy to write off the deterrent effect because it isn’t quantifiable. The government can’t just start shooting people and bulldozing them into mass graves because the individuals who would do those things are rightfully afraid that they would be shot back. Human nature is the same everywhere, it can happen here, and firearms in the hands of American citizens are the only things preventing it from not happening here. Not fail.

      • Rob

Maybe I misunderstood you, but are you really saying the only thing preventing the government from shooting and killing its citizens is that these citizens have firearms? And if we were to remove these firearms the government would then feel free to start killing everyone?

Are you even aware of the level of paranoia you live in?

    • kajungator

I guess you made an “F” in history. Such statements only remind us that teachers are still failing to teach anything of meaning. Sad you could not have attended school in the 50’s and 60’s.

    • http://twitter.com/Mattthepatriot Mattthepatriot

The 2nd Amendment is there for citizens to protect themselves from government

  • Rob

You make it sound like people that want to bear arms are this tiny minority and people who want to ban guns are this huge majority that doesn’t let the tiny minority be heard, you must be kidding, if that were true guns would’ve been banned by now, and we are nowhere close to something like that ever happen, if anything the people that want no gun regulation are the majority. And you really think you can protect yourself from the government by having a few guns in your house? You’re delusional.

And if you believe there is no climate change and that September 11th was an “inside job” you deserve to be ridiculed.

I do agree that we should always be suspicious of governments and not trust them, and that just because you happened to have been born in a particular part of the world by complete chance it doesn’t mean you have to be stuck in there forever though.

Rob- If you believe 9/11 wasn’t an inside job it is because you tend to ‘believe things’ rather than investigate them. A sleeping giant is harmless.

      • Rob

Well, I’m a rational man, I can change my mind if presented with evidence, and you clearly have investigated this issue unlike me who “believe things”. Show me the results of your investigation that prove 9/11 was an inside job.

      • http://twitter.com/Mattthepatriot Mattthepatriot

        Watch “Loose Change”…plenty of evidence

  • Jesus spirit.

You think the government would want to start a civil war. Lone nuts can easily take care of some government officials. Everything is fare in War.

Stop beating about the proverbial bush. You’re just a traditional fascist, there’s no elegance in denying it.

All Hayek did was make the case that fascism didn’t have to attack communism because communism would fail on its own. Hitler was just a bit too proactive, you see.

Repeating your mantra that you’re against government and for freedom just makes you more against freedom and for more government.

Make money and hustle for it. Don’t give me a far right political Disney Land where everything is alright if it’s far right. Nice people don’t make money, scumbags do. The gold standard isn’t against government, it means government of a different kind, one that you’ve invested in.

A recommendation on rhetoric: make your points with facts and call it a day, forget the rhetorical redundancy.

But then again, the web is full of articles these days on the ridiculousness of the NRA, so it must be tough to make a case.
And whoever falls for your ridiculously expensive useless forum deserves it.

      Hey JoJo,

I suggest you do a little educating of yourself and cease your undying reliance on your governmental indoctrination. Have you ever wondered why you have never questioned the motives or even the authority of your government “superiors”? Yet you seem to spend a great deal of your time questioning free individuals and their un-coersive associations. So we have established that you can question, but you can’t question government. Sounds like proper brainwashing to me.

First of all, Hayek made the case that Fascism and Communism were essentially the same. They are both Socialism which is doomed to fail on it’s own. So… You’re an Idiot.

Secondly, “Repeating your mantra that you’re against government and for freedom just makes you more against freedom and for more government.”

is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever hear. I pity you. So… You’re twisted.

Thirdly, “Nice people don’t make money, scumbags do”. How do you explain yourself?

Trust me, the reason you don’t have any money isn’t because you are so nice. You are a scumbag that focuses all his energy in the wrong direction – your government protectors. That is why you don’t have any money. Go out and try to offer a service that your fellow human beings desire and demand, provide your brother with what he is asking for, serve both him and yourself- money will come. Oh, and guess what? Without any threat of force or violence which is the only thing your government friends have to offer.

Finally,”The gold standard isn’t against government, it means government of a different kind, one that you’ve invested in.”

Just like every other predictable leftist I know (and I live in Hawaii so I know a lot) you are just another pseudo-intellectual know-nothing talking in cryptic gobbedy gook! Okay, what exactly is this “Government of a different kind”? Please tell me, it sounds so highly superior to any of my knowledge. Teach me comrade.

      • joao cesar

I do make money, I read my Cialdini, I hustle for it, as a scumbag. I don’t fap away to political asshats from the far right when I make money, I fantasise with control and domination, so when I make money I inspire myself by watching Leni Riefenstahl’s Triumph of the Will.

What makes far right assclowns as thuggish as Chavez is the solipsism. As the meaning of the word implies, service is anything but ethical. Business ethics, too, is an oxymoron. No wonder if you keep lying about the ethics of service you get the service sector enraged every so often!

Of course there’s force and coercion inside private property. It would be silly and childlike to claim there’s only coercion when the poor rise on the rich.
That’s what makes you so weird. If you think that, left in private, people only engage in good vs evil, you’re deranged. Gun wounds result from escalated quarrels, not from the fight against the dark side. But political assclowns from the far right manage to lobby laws into being that allow them to kill anyone as long as they’re on their private property

      • joao cesar

I think there’d be a whole lot less leftists about if we did less of your right wing version of Rousseau’s man is lovely as long as he’s left alone and more of my admitting to man’s scumbaggery.

But this blog is hardly place, it’s the usual run of the mill gold standard meets minarchy b.s. from the far right.

  • joao cesar

But, as you’re a fascist, aren’t you in favour of tyranny?

  • geo wells

    How is this not

White countries are being flooded by non-whites. Whites are told to be
TOLERANT. Whites are forced to integrate.

    With assimilation
we see the extinction of one race only, the White race. Its not funny, not
    comedy, its white genocide.

    Anti-racist is a
    codeword for anti-white.
