Over the last few years I have received countless requests for consultation.  Frankly, it’s just not what I do… I’m far too busy putting my own deals together and exploiting new-found opportunities.

So with limited time and an over zealously strong desire to keep my personal privacy, I pretty much turned down every request except for close insiders.

Now, for the first time, I’ve decided to make myself available on a *very* limited basis to subscribers of my daily e-letter, Sovereign Man: Notes From the Field.

Why? A few reasons.

First, I like the deal flow. If people come to me with their business ideas wanting to start XYZ company in Timbuktu, not only can I help point them in the right direction, I might be interested enough to invest myself (which I have done numerous times in the past).

Second, I realized that if I created a formal process I could simply direct all the inquires for personalized help to this process.  And since it’s now known to everyone that I  charge for my time, it will likely weed out the tire kickers from the folks who are truly serious.

Third, chances are that if you are truly serious about internationalizing yourself or your assets, we’ll probably get along just fine… and I like helping like-minded people as long as it doesn’t monopolize my time.

I’m only going to set aside a few hours a month for this, if that. But for people who do get on the phone with me, it will definitely be worthwhile because my experience can make an enormous difference in your decision making process.

I’ve been all around the world, several times at that. I lost count of the number of countries I’ve been to and have contacts ranging from presidents to sovereign fund managers to bank chairmen to celebrities in my address book.

I’ve operated in a variety of locations in a variety of different businesses– I could quote you the price of concrete in Panama, the asking price for beach front property in Croatia, and the virtues a particular offshore brokerage off the top of my head.

More importantly, here’s what I’m not willing to help with:

-Personalized financial/investment advice
-Anything that would put either one of us in jail.

How it works:

I’m not cheap, and to be perfectly honest I don’t care if anyone ever calls. I’m busy enough with my other business interests…  I hope that you can respect the fact that my time is my most valuable and closely guarded asset.

If you want to engage me it will cost $1,000 for the initial consultation.  The initial consultation will happen over the phone and the purpose of the call will be to assess your needs and goals.

Typically, I’m able to answer questions, provide strategies, and/or resolve your issue during that initial consultation.   However, if your situation is more complicated and requires ongoing guidance (starting a business or raising capital, for example), we will have to work out an extended arrangement.

Some other things you should know: I will record all consultations in order to protect both you and I.  If you hire me for a consultation, you must agree to have the call recorded, and I will send you a copy of the recording afterwards.

Don’t worry, all information is confidential.  I agree that I won’t share your information or the call recording with anyone outside of my firm, and you must agree not to disclose any advice, contacts or the recorded file with any third party.
